Wait, I’m Stuck! – Day 2: When Delay Reveals the Real Issue

Dr. Micah Mitchell

What if what’s keeping you stuck isn’t around you—but inside you?

Could it be that what feels like delay is actually God drawing your attention to something deeper?

Before we dive in, thank you for your patience. This post came later than planned because I’ve been finishing a project dear to my heart:

Dear Prophet: Letters to a Prophet, Volume 2.

Now that it’s complete—this word is coming with fresh fire.

———-

It’s Not Delay, It’s a Deeper Work

We often point to external limitations:

✔️ Closed doors

✔️ Limited resources

✔️ Unclear direction

But what if the breakthrough you’re waiting for starts in your own heart?

What if God isn’t withholding your next—but healing what’s been buried beneath the surface?

This isn’t punishment. This is divine alignment.

🔥 Prophetic Word: I Am Healing What’s Been Holding You Back

“I am dealing with the internal struggle that whispers, ‘You can’t go any further.’ But I say—yes, you can. I am giving you My strength to press on and My wisdom to move forward. I am uncovering the layers of disappointment, fear, and fatigue—to heal you at the root. You are not behind—you are exactly on time for the transformation I’ve ordained. I have not forgotten you. But you cannot enter your next season carrying a mindset molded by past pain. I’m not just adjusting your direction—I’m restoring your soul. Let Me finish the work in you, and watch breakthrough erupt around you.”

🧱 From the Pit to the Palace: Joseph’s Inner Test

Joseph had a prophetic dream as a teenager—he saw himself ruling, positioned in favor and influence. But the path didn’t match the promise.

He was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife, and thrown into prison. That’s not just opposition—that’s trauma. The real test wasn’t just in what he walked through—it was in how he carried what God showed him while walking through it.

“Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord refined him.”

(Psalm 105:19, NASB)

The Hebrew language behind “refined” implies intense testing and purification—the Word that was meant to lift Joseph had to first mature his soul.

• In the pit, Joseph learned to trust God without visibility.

• In slavery, he learned to serve faithfully without applause.

• In prison, he learned to hold onto hope without answers.

And then—in one day—God brought Joseph from the prison to the palace. (Genesis 41:14–41)

God didn’t just position Joseph with authority—He positioned him with wisdom, compassion, and strength to carry the weight of the dream.

⚙️ God Is Positioning You, Not Punishing You

God loves you too much to let you walk into promotion with unhealed places.

Before promotion, there is a process. (James 4:10 — “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.”)

Before overflow, there is surrender. (Proverbs 3:9–10 — “Honor the Lord… and your barns will be filled with plenty.”)

Before acceleration, there is obedience. *(Amos 9:13 — “The plowman will overtake the reaper…”)

You’re not being punished—you’re being positioned.

And hear this: God is love. (1 John 4:8)

There is no punishment in love. (1 John 4:18)

The Holy Spirit never leaves you stuck—He always leads you forward.

Even in silence, He is advancing you. Even in pressure, He is purifying you.

This is about soul health before success.
