“Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14
Let me say something that might challenge you: If a pastor or leader experiences a medical emergency in front of their congregation, our first response should be to PRAY for them—not to gossip or assume it’s a punishment for sin. Where is the love? Where is the compassion?
I’ve faced cancer twice, endured multiple surgeries, and even died last year, only to be revived by God’s grace. I can confidently tell you that these trials were not God punishing me for hidden sin. They were opportunities for His glory to shine through my life.
The Word of God reminds us:
“Perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.” – 1 John 4:18
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” – Romans 8:1
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.” – Psalm 103:8
If you’re going to point a finger at someone, remember this: four fingers are pointing back at you.
Men and women of God have laid down their lives to shepherd the flock. No one is perfect, but the God we serve is full of love , grace , and restoration. Let’s reject foolish judgment and choose compassion. Let’s pray instead of pointing fingers.
If we cannot love our leaders, how can we show the world the love of Christ? Choose love. Choose grace. Choose unity.
